Contextify ("we", "us", "our") is a solo-operated software product based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. We provide an AI-powered short-form video script analyzer accessible at contextify.ca.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user. It applies to all users of contextify.ca and our web application.
When you sign up, we collect: email address, account creation date, and plan type (Free or Pro). We use Supabase for authentication and database storage. Your password is never stored in plain text.
We track: number of analyses run per month, analysis results (score, dimensions, top fix) linked to your account, video transcripts generated from your uploaded content, and timestamps of activity.
Your video file is never uploaded to our servers.
Audio is extracted directly in your browser using FFmpeg.wasm. Only the extracted audio is temporarily uploaded to Cloudflare R2 for transcription purposes. This audio file is permanently deleted from our storage immediately after transcription is complete. We do not retain any audio or video files.
A single thumbnail frame is extracted from your video in your browser and stored to identify your videos in your vault. Your full video file is never uploaded or stored.
The text transcript generated from your audio is stored in our database (Supabase) linked to your account. This is what powers your analysis history and vault. You can delete your content at any time from your dashboard.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy and security policies. We only store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
We use Google Analytics to understand how users navigate the product. This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity.
We use your data to provide and operate the Contextify service, process and return your video script analysis, enforce usage limits on the Free plan, manage your Pro subscription via Stripe, send transactional emails, and improve the product based on anonymized usage patterns.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your transcripts or analysis results with any third party.

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, withdraw consent and request deletion of your data, and know how your data is being used. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@contextify.ca. We will respond within 30 days.
Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) provides additional rights including the right to data portability and the right to be forgotten. Contact us to exercise these rights.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) across the entire product, row-level security on our database (Supabase RLS), no storage of raw payment data, and immediate deletion of audio files after processing.
No system is 100% secure. If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Contextify is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or by a notice in the product. Continued use of Contextify after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
